Anders Muammar
- What motivated you to take part in our project?
- Any project that takes a stance against mindless aggression and human suffering is worth supporting. And since I knew Sveinung since before I knew that there was a good force behind it.
- How did the war in Ukraine affect you personally?
- My father was a palestinian so I've known my entire life about the mechanics of violent military oppression. People still have the nerve to defend the state of Israels actions after 70+years of occupation. Now with Ukraine I wish that people would realize what cost this situation has on everyday people and take clear stands against all the unreasonable human suffering that is happening now..
- Tell us about your project partner. What is common between you? And what are the differences that make you complement each other?
- We both come from creative backgrounds and some of our stuff have a bit of darker feel to them. Her words are colourful and vivid and I immediatly see shapes and colours take form when I read them. The fact that Olga is in the middle of this horrible experience makes it more important for me to handle all the words and thoughts with care.
- A few words about your joint work. Why did you decide to implement this idea?
- It's not so much of an idea than that we got paired up because poetry and art goes hand in hand. Her style of putting words to feelings is the same thing as putting colour to them. Now we wrangle some kind of weird art-child in the form of a painting that hopefully can spread a message of humbleness and understanding to someone.
- What would you like to wish the audience of the project?
- To take every chance to protest and stop meaningless destructive military aggression and also be more aware about the world around us. How stuff are connected. How megalomaniacal leaders work. How we can learn from history.
- The first thing you will do when the war is over. What is the main message of your art work?
- I probably wanna go there. Have never been to Ukraine. The message is in my mind probably something in the lines of ”Can everyone please stop murdering other people over f*cking nothing”.
