Denys Beregovsky aka Koin
- What motivated you to take part in our project?
- I want to spread the word about modern Ukrainian Undeground. And to show the artistic aesthetics of modern Ukraine thru the different medias and my own experience to be an independent artist in Ukraine.
- How did the war in Ukraine affect you personally?
- It destroyed my dreams and my motivations. It divided my family because I am married and my wife stays in Israeli with her parents and I stay with my parent here in Berlin to take care of her because she is an old lady and she is disabled person in wheelchair.
- Tell us about your project partner. What is common between you? And what are the differences that make you complement each other?
- My project is some kind mixed-media installation. It is video plus live music performance in collaboration with Lisa Nordström. The meaning of my art is to create a mythological persona Ruthenia as metaphors for modern Ukraine, but in archaic way of expressing it. Ruthenia is voice persona from the radio podcast. She is speaking about something from other worlds. Something from the Depth of our souls. It is the way to speak about the war not telling about the war .For live music performance I use recaptured audio from the war lines and from the mobile calls of Russian troops and their relatives.
- A few words about your joint work. Why did you decide to implement this idea?
- This is the way I can talk about the war.
- What would you like to wish the audience of the project?
- I would like to take them to a journey through the new Mythos of Ruthenia as it isn't a methodological place or a fairy tale but something deep that existed ages before. Onto Matriarch Cult of old Eastern Europe.
- The first thing you will do when the war is over.
- Make a Party for 7-days long. In Kharkiv I was and Art Director of Night Club and Cultural Center ZHYVOT
